Biodex MultiJoint System 4

The Biodex Multi-Joint System 4 provides unmatched performance for neuromuscular and isokinetic strength testing and rehabilitation.

Biodex Advantage BX Software

Biodex Advantage BX Software offers a streamlined, intuitive experience for the System 4 Dynamometer so you can capture and document every stage of the rehabilitation process. Totally redesigned, the modern interface will provide users of the Biodex System 4 with more efficient functionality and intuitive navigation, while maintaining the testing and training accuracy they expect from their Biodex Multi-Joint System. With the first-ever Return-to-Play report for ACL-R, results can be understood at a glance with clear pass/fail for isokinetic tests throughout the athlete’s recovery. This unique report gives patients and referring physicians the added confidence they are ready to return to play.

The Right Tool for ACL Return to Play

ACLR does not always lead to successful outcomes and return to sport, and the costs can be significant. Current research shows specific criteria to determine RTP that includes isokinetic testing can help reduce the likelihood of reinjury. The Biodex System 4 Dynamometer with Advantage BX Software supports clinicians and trainers who insist on objective data to return athletes to sport safely.

Cleveland Clinic utilizes Biodex System 4 Dynamometer to ensure employee and patient safety

As part of its employee health program, the Cleveland Clinic includes a PCE™ test (strength testing) to evaluate if a candidate is capable of performing the essential duties of the job. Utilizing the technology created by IPCS™ (Industrial Physical Capability Services), Cleveland Clinic conducts isokinetic testing on the Biodex System 4 Dynamometer to determine the physical capability of the worker. In addition to safety benefits, Cleveland Clinic has experienced decreased workers’ compensation claims and medical costs.

Rehabilitation of Hamstring Strains with the Biodex System 4

Timothy F. Tyler MS, PT, ATC explains how to determine hamstring injury susceptibility, and re-injury management is achieved using Lengthened State Protocol on the Biodex System 4 dynamometer. Research clearly indicates that athlete’s that follow the protocol do not suffer re-injury of hamstring. Mr. Tyler is a research consultant to the Nicholas Institute of Sports Medicine and Athletic Trauma (NISMAT) in New York, and a co-author of the research study validating the efficacy of the Institute’s hamstring rehabilitation protocol.
