Overview

Fall-related deaths are on the riseReduce falls and improve balance. The Biodex Fall Risk Screening & Conditioning Program is used to identify potential fall candidates, improve balance, and foster independence.

Aside from reducing falls, the Biodex Balance System SD, in conjunction with the Fall Risk Screening & Conditioning Program, enables you to offer an outpatient rehab program to any and all groups targeted as ‘potential fall candidates’, including those with Parkinson’s disease, post-stroke, post-hip or knee replacement plus general deconditioned older adults.

The program is a simple combination of risk-factor screening including analytical balance testing compared to universally-accepted normative data and medical protocols, consistent with the American Geriatric Society Clinical Practice Guidelines. If a patient is found to be at risk of falling, there is an array of interventions and conditioning exercises that can help restore balance, mobility, functional independence and subsequently reduce fall risk.

Objective documentation compares performance to age-based normal, and includes G-code calculations and modifier codes to satisfy Medicare requirements to demonstrate clinical need.

Biodex provides the marketing support to attract ACOs, referring physicians, hospital discharge planners, community dwellers, residents and their families.
