The Biodex Balance System SD is a device used to assess and train balance in a variety of populations. The Balance System consists of a multiaxial circular platform that is free to move in multiple planes. Recently the BSS underwent an extensive overhaul that resulted in major changes to the software, firmware and hardware components. The Biodynamics and Human Performance Center at AASU was been given a system to evaluate the newer features and begin establishing reliability, validity and normative data. Currently we are conducting a series of studies to meet these objectives.
